How does insurance treat this? Will the premium go up?
It shouldn't but first they have to go into arbitration with the deer's insurance company.

Someone stopped and put the deer in their pickup. Said they were taking it, which is common in our county, to the local homeless shelter where they can butcher and serve.

Geico is my insurance, and so far, since the deer hit us they are claiming it as comprehensive (which I feel is correct).

I hope given it was not our fault etc that the rates dont go up.

I am also pleased I am getting zero error messages on IDrive.

I did see some damage to the rear quarter panel upon further inspection today (which is difficult, BTW, I really just want to drop it off and get it fixed).

Cannot open either door on the drivers side.

Man, it happens. It just seems like such a rare instance. But hopefully it gets fixed and is off and running soon. Crazy it made such a huge dent, though.

Check out this deer I saw coming back from the Exotics Rally today. Maybe this is your deer?

Sorry, man, that's a drag. Glad your family is OK. The damage looks to be mostly limited to the doors, which will be an easy, and quick fix. GL.

Got the car into the body shop and Geico finished the estimate.

It will take 6 days to:

Replace both driver side doors and mirror and fix a dent in the rear quarter right behind the rear door.

How much? $4340.

My deductible? $100.

Whew.

Here's one. This deer gets stuck in the grill of a car and it's still alive. The couple who hit the deer drove to the police station to get help for the deer. The cops freed the deer and took it to a farm to release it. Just as they are letting it go, some yahoo comes along and takes a shot at it, firing his gun right over the heads of the cops.
