I am looking at buying an 06 M5 with 93k on the clock. Looks good runs good. I sold my 02 M3 with only 65K and nver a problem. Wondering if 93K is high for a 5. There is also a local one wiht 73K for 4K more. The local one has, I know, been well maitained. Any advice?

go for it dude.. 93k isn't that bad as long as it's not a daily driver.

different opinion....go for the lower mileage 73k and baring them down....use the 93k M5 as leverage to shave 2k off the price....

less than 20K miles a year ... enough to keep 'er in use but not abuse. Maintenance records are VERY important as is access to an affordable after-market warranty or extra cash on hand for repairs and maintenance! A quality BMW indy mechanic with M experience helps too!

Tried dealing down on the one with 73K but the fellow owes about 39K and is a tad apprehensive about writing too big a check. I offered hem 30K and no go. He has it consigne with a local dealer and they are taking 1.5K off the top, plus he is going to put an additional 800 or so in new injectors. He wants 32K and the 93K one is at 26.4 but I have to either drive to pick it up or pay about $700 to have it delivered. I cna drive my F350 down with a trailer to pick it up and maybe even take a week vacation in the process. I have a local mechanic who was a top BMW guy for 8 years at a local BMW Store, and was a mechanic for Mario Andretti for about 5 years back in the early 90's. He worked magic on my M3. They are even both same color - only diff is that the one with 93K ahs the cooled seats. I wonder, are those confort seats as good holding as the sport seats? Do they both have active side bolsters?

BMWUSA has a couple CPO '06 M5s ... pricing there might give you some leverage. Sounds like the one w/73K is upside down ... something you want to avoid too! When the new M5s are released '06s might take another hit and price drop.

Good luck with the hunt!
