I think the HK Logic 7 is good, but I would not say it is any better than the Bose system I have in my GMC.
I have considered looking into better amps but then I would probably just accelerate my hearing loss.

Please you're making me weep. I just paid ?355 ($700) to upgrade to your standard system. In the UK we have 3 systems - Std, Hifi (your std system) and Logic 7. Have pity on Europe please.
I love my system - the bass is well baaad
Merv, if it sounds good to you (and my L7 sounds good to me) then you spent your money well. I've got no complaints about my L7 system. Sure, there may be "better" (or, more accurately, subjectively perceived as "better") systems on the market but in a listening environment such as in a car, competing with the tyre roar and the suspension bumps we endure on Northern Californian freeways etc, "good enough" is good enough for me and I suspect most drivers as well. Enjoy what you have.
Logic 7 is the best option moneywise. If you got nav pro then your radio is also the professional series and i think all other solutions that are better cost 5 times the cost of the logic 7 system is you take in to account the aftermarket labour cost to redo all the cables and stuff.
I realy enjoy the system. I would not consider loosing the Oem look of the car and loose some idrive on screen hi fi integration. Any after market solution will be a disaster in therms of money it will cost to give a better result.

Could anyone tell me the EXACT difference between standard US audio and L7. I realize it's most likely better speakers and the DSP but I'd like to know the exact differences. Does the standard have the same amount of speakers?

Thanks guys but does the standard audio have the same amount of speakers?
I plan on gutting mine. But if the standard audio doesn't have the dash cutout for the center channel then it would be worth it for me to buy the L7 just so I won't have to cut the dash as I'd like to keep that center channel.
Pmmeke,
I know HiFi only has 10 speakers compared to L7's 13 i.e. no speakers in dash (1) and rear doors (2) but how many speakers does the European std system get? Also whats the difference between the std system and the hifi system apart from the speakers? Or is it just no of speakers? Do you have the diagrams for all 3 systems please?
Why don't BMW have these systems set up in their showrooms? I bet they would sell more upgrades!

The standard system, in Singapore and UK, consists 6 speakers and NO amplifier. 2 component speakers at the front, 2 components rear and 2 under-seat subwoofers. There is no tweeter at the front although there is housing catered for it.
