I did my origin B2 install today, found out quite a lot of interesting info
I dropped the glovebox, trim and side of the centre panel trim
Well, whatdya know...the wiring is present for the torch. I tried to use it for power to the B2 but it is only "hot" when the engine isn't running...wierd
anyway I took power from the fusebox next to the 6 disc changer, works fine and by feeding the gps antenna lead around the a-piller trim, It looks really neat.
HOWEVER, there is a non-connected terminal block clipped to the rear side of the upper glovebox trim, It has what looks like power and optical terminations...wonder what this is for, TIS system doesnt have it listed and I wonder if it represents the elusive AUX-input?
Don't want to try anything incase I bugger up the electronics
anyway, photos of the B2 install to come.

Doctor Diesel - Congratulations on your new car. I have looked at the pictures and it is really beautiful. I have been away on a cruise to the Baltics so I missed your initial post about getting your car. Sorry about my post on the 12 volt outlets as your pictures clearly show no outlets on the back of the center console. I noticed as we toured the Baltic cities that many cars had devices mounted on their dashes so it is surprising they are not provided as standard features. Also, met a couple from Scotland near Glasgow and asked him if he was on the internet! Some times it is a small world. Enjoy the ride!

Doctor Diesel..
Your car looks great! What's a B2 system? Is that for nav?
You may have indeed found the aux in connectors. If they are optical that would explain why bmw is so late in getting a proper analog interface ready.
I assume you have the idrive in your car. Does the tv come up as an option on your main entertinment menu? Also does the menu show an aux input for audio?
Some of us on this side of the pond are trying to figure out how to get the tv working. We were told that we cannot get it as a menu option with idrive but you have it there. What gives? Do you suppose a software hack might do it?

I have 4 options on the entertainment source
1. FM
2. AM (LW MW & SW)
3. CD (single, changer1-6 & DVD Drive
4. TV
there are about 50 options for tv standard INCLUDING USA
the dvd drive will not play movies, only the nav dvd
the b2 is a gps based speed camera warning system, not a nav system
