I just put 10 gallons of 100 octane in my 545. So with the 8 gallons at 92 octane already in the tank I figure I have 96 for the next 300 miles. What a difference. The car is so much more responsive and smoother. At $4.50 a gallon I won't be making a habit of this, but I really think the gas in Europe is better than here in the US. I got that same feel back, that I thought was lost as a result of some emissions recall software update they did at VPC. Oh well I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

I plan on trying some octane booster. Has anyone else tried it and if so what was your experience?

Where does one buy 100 octane gas in the US? I am clueless, but really would love to try a tank. I'm in Chicago.......

toulene .... i think its about 114 octane .... mix it.
x = gallons of gas
y = gallons of toulene
z = total amount
x+y=z
x/z*93 + y/z*114 = total octane
x = gallons of gas
y = gallons of toulene
z = total amount
x+y=z
x/z*93 + y/z*114 = total octane

x = 6
y = 2
z = 8
x/z*93 + y/z*114 = total octane
6/8*93 + 2/8*114 = 98.25
(69.75 + 28.5)
========================
x = 6
y = 3
z = 9
x/z*93 + y/z*114 = total octane
6/9*93 + 3/9
========================
x = 6
y = 4
z = 10
x/z*93 + y/z*114 = total octane
6/10*93 + 4/10*114 = 101.2
(55.8 + 45.6)
y = 2
z = 8
x/z*93 + y/z*114 = total octane

You need to look for a gas station that sells racing gas. There used to be a gas station called "2001" on Golf Rd., west of I-94 and east of the Milwaukee Ave/Golf Rd. intersection (I think in Niles). I recall seeing other gas stations which sell racing gas around that area...
