My Ride: 2004 545i Sport: Titanium Gray on Gray Dakota with Black Poplar Trim, SMG Transmission, Active Steering, Logic 7, Navigation
My 545i consistently has one momentary "power dropout" when pulling away from the garage each morning (or after having been parked for a significant time). Usually happens soon after shifting into 2nd gear (I have an SMG), and only lasts a second or so. Enough to feel the lurch. The car runs fine after that.
Anyone have a similar issue? Any idea what might cause it?
Best regards.

Hummm thats odd... does it only happen after you shift into 2nd? Has it happened before in any other gear?
I was thinking maybe worn clutch or dirty air filter? How many miles on your car?

The M5's suffer from a similar condition...they all have it. When cold, the car will sputter a bit during take-off....like a jerking, as if it's going to stall. To avoid it, I rev the engine a few good times prior to backing out of the garage, and I also hit the M button to get more gas going into the injectors. You don't have the 2nd option , but you can try the first one.
