I had my defective Dunlop RFT's replaced, free of charge, a few months ago.
That original set of tires had about 8,000 miles on them when they were diagnosed, and about 11,000 miles when they were finally replaced.
My dealership replaced the defiective rubber with the identical brand/model.
I explained to my SA that this was unacceptable. He assured me that Dunlop had addressed the problem and my tires would be just fine. He also assured me that Dunlop/dealer/BMWNA would stand behind these new and improved replacements.
Well, I now have approx. 5,000miles on the replacements and the same issues have begun to arise.

UNBELIEVABLE!

The SA I originally dealt with at Motorwerks BMW no longer works there. I have contacted the SM and am waiting to hear from him.
I'll keep you posted.

ps am I the first here to have this problem for the second time?

What's the problem? I mean I know what the problems are... but which one are you experiencing? Inner tire thread wear? or Roaring noise? or both?

Whats the camber set to on the E60s? Or the sport set up... could it be that causing the problem? Wearing of the inner threads...

I heard about the Infiniti G35c having like -2 deg on the rears and its wearing their tires out in like 8K miles!

Have them replaced again, and push for the Bridgestones

If my new ones start roaring like the ones that were replaced, I'm not pushing for the Bridgestones - I'm pushing the 545 into the Arkansas River.

I just got fresh Dunlop runflats about 500 miles ago, and I have to say they aren't quiet. But I am paying attention to see whether they get louder with time. I'm not angry about it, because it hasn't been so loud as to bother me; but I want to catch it at a time when I can still get a service action done for free, rather than pay for premature wear myself.

Both. Exactly the same situation I experienced with the original tires.

I had my original Dunlops diagnosed at 11,000 and replaced at 17,000, I had to pay half. Then the service bulletin came out. The replacement Dunlops have 7,000 on them and were loud and cupping. The dealer replaced the second set with Bridgestones and refunded my cost on the first set. Just got the Bridgestones Friday, we'll see how they do.

Why not go for Dunlops again? Heck, maybe we can just keep getting new tires every 7000 miles or so? I'm okay with that!
