Just don't let your BMW dealer know about it.

Get it fixed by an independent shop.

If the dealer knows about the damage, they will try to discount your trade-in value even more than normal.... regardless if you fixed the damage or not.

Where in SC are you? I used to live in Charleston, so I can direct you to the best body shop there if you like.

Thanks JollyO, I am not too worried about the rims gives me a reson to finally go for 19's
The other damage is what hurts....but I did listen to your advice and had a few glasses of wine
You won't be able to run drag radials anymore if you go with 19's.

I am not sure where to go. I was going to ask friends to recommend a good body shop. I am in Myrtle beach, which is about 90 miles from Charleston...so I don't mind driving to Charleston for a good body shop.
PM me if you can think of a good one. Thanks a lot!!!

Sorry to hear that miss525i. The best part is that both you and the doggies are fine.

Hey! when I had my mystic blue similar things happened to her. But on the Passenger side and same spot as yours. I went to pickup a valentine's card for one of my lovely ladies (my niece)..when I came back, i saw the damaged. Maybe some one with a shopping cart. The body shop i use (my x dealer) did a nice job. I meant. A superb job.

Dont worry much. I dont think it is damaged enought to be replaced. I think it can be repainted.
Thanks amigo! talking about a shopping carts I ran into a shopping cart one time in my old car. It was windy and the cart was rolling toward me....it was not pretty when we met
But you know, it didn't even bother me then. I just love this car way too much

Nasty...i know how you feel...i may feel even worse since i;m crazy about my car. I did a similar stuff to my back bumper, on the right side, but only the bumper not the fender also...it's on a smaller patch and more deep scratsches then a big patch where the paint has been removed. Backed up while steering at max and didn't see a parking pole...gladly it was slow enough not to bend anything. I'm thinking about a touch up kit or the inssurance. But it hurts to see anything dismounted from my car. You know it's a certain feeling that once you dismount smth that was fabric mounted it might not be the same. Or maybe i'm a bit paranoic when it comes to this stuff.
I was so afraid to get out of the car and see the damage...I am still so upset.
I am so paranoid that before I get in the car, I walk around it every time and check for damage.
