As an alternative, check the installers on the TireRack site - especially the ones with references and remarks.
This is an excellent way to proceed!

One permanent for sure fix solution if money isnt the issue is to get a new tire.

I'm at a bit of a loss understanding the issue here. If you need an emergency quick repair to hold air, then can't you have it plugged? Then later get to an actual tire shop (a real place) and have them assess it and patch it (if they feel it's fixable.) Otherwise you buy a new tire (or a pair) of the same type you already have.

This has happened to me more times than I care to remember. The last time it was late in the evening and I returned to my car after buying groceries and noticed the right rear low. Sure 'nuff there was a drywall screw in it. I headed to the nearest full service auto parts store (open until 9pm) and they said they'd plug it as long as I paid cash and they didn't write up an invoice. It was between me and the tire wrangler, the service manager stayed out of it. I paid the guy $10 and he plugged it.

Next day at my leisure I went to a real tire shop and they patched it for $60. It's a scenario I've gone through before. Is that not proper? Of course, if it was ever more than once on the same tire, I'd buy a new one.

(btw, years ago I used to carry a plug kit and a small 12 volt compressor in the car just in case......)

Isn?t that what a spare is for? You can make the tire unrepairable by plugging it - not always but sometimes.

Yes, but in a dense urban area and/or freeway I find it difficult to change out a tire (and very dangerous, too.) And, I don't always have a spare

Of course, that's what BMW Assist/AAA is for, etc.. I guess my point was that I'm confused as to the OP's "dilemma." Either plug, patch, fix, or replace. We all get flats and those are the choices. It's part of the driving experience. It just didn't sound like something out of the ordinary, so I guess I felt confused.

I've never had an issue with a temporary plug, so I guess I was also concerned about that. In addition, I own Falkens, too. A pretty inexpensive tire to begin with.

I?ve been up for almost 24 hours, but did you say you screwed a pro, got stuck, then ran over her in your garage? If so, I think this should be moved to the Lounge.

Wait...What? No, I think I just ran over a screw that was laying aroung in my garage, and the tires are low profile falken 452s.

fwiw, I have the 452s also. As inexpensive a tire as these are, you could easily replace them without even batting an eye. It's not as though they are PS2s or something.

Yea, where can I buy these tires for a descent price, also would I need a new one for the other side? thanks.

Do a Google search. Discount Tires usually carries them for a good price.

I normally replace tires in pairs. But that always depends on whether or not the other one is relatively new......
