help rough idle
 

Hi just started my car to go shopping and car started idling really badly so went home I checked the air filter wich was really dirty gave that a blast of air to get all the crap out of it and know its ok could that of been the problem do old air filters cause rough idle it did fill like the car was starving for air .the engine fault lite come on 2 but is not on know

Although the check engine light is now off, the engine computer may have stored the code(s) that triggered the CEL. Get the codes read, translated, and cleared, and that should give you a better idea of the original problem(s).
