My Ride: 2006 530xi -Sports/Prem. Pkg with Navi, ACS Full Kit with ACS Side Mirrors, ACS roof Spoiler. (Not Replicas) H&R Springs, V3 Angel Eyes, HID Fogs.
Hi, i have a 2006 bmw 530xi AWD, recently i lowered my car with H & R springs. The problem has always been there the first day i got my car. Im a pretty hard driver, i speed alot and in NY theres pot holes and bad roads. Everytime i hit a hole, few days later my flat tire light comes on. Now with the spring the car feels alot more bumpyier.
Help.. how can i stop my wheels from cracking? ohh yeah. .i got the sports 18" wheels OEM.
Should i go to 17" ?
Is there a different spring or coil over system to get.. so i can have a smoothier ride car?
Please help. thank you!!

There are no other springs or coilovers for the xi available. Admittedly, the ride is bouncy and bumpy with the H&R's, my only regret. I have not had any wheel issues here in Pittsburgh, and we are the pothole capital of the US. I have 19" summer CSL replicas and 17" 138's for winter....no cracking issues on either, and I've hit quite a few holes with each set.
Your OEM 18's should not be cracking with typical potholes, so I think BMW should be held somewhat accountable. You could buy wheel/tire insurance. If it continues to be an issue, you should go back to the OEM springs. I've thought about doing it myself to recapture the smoother ride. However, I won't do it since my 19's would look stupid.
