Default Help re: part number for M-Sport 550i rear bumper/diffuser

Hi all,

As I posted earlier, I need to replace the bumper cover and diffuser for my 2010 550i M-sport.

I can't find the correct part number for the E60 m-sport rear bumper/diffuser. The parts diagram on getBMWparts, for example, has the parts listed for the M-sport front bumper (described as "aerodynamic package"), but not for the rear bumper, which has the standard non-M-sport rear bumper.

I've hunted around and come up with two possible part numbers:
* 51127897222 or 51127897221 for the rear bumper cover
* 51127897216 or 51127897215 for the diffuser cover

I can't tell the difference between the two parts for the rear bumper cover and the diffuser cover. Can someone please help?

Thanks in advance.

-TA

Thanks, twidge -- my body shop (which was initially confused and was about to order a standard bumper cover for me) has since identified 511-278-97222 and 511-278-97215 as the correct parts for my car.

Here is your answer: RealOEM.com - Online BMW Parts Catalog

51127897222 is the bumper with PDC, which your 550i most likely has.
51127897215 is the diffuser WITHOUT the removable hitch cover, which is probably for you, unless you do have a towing package.

Thank you -- very helpful! You're right -- I have PDC and do not have the towing package.

Here is a possible way to look up the part number(s) Go online and look for a late model M5 that is for sale. If available, find the posted VIN. Using the last 7 or 8 VIN numbers go to Realoem.com and it should show the information.
