help pls... question about a OEM E60 rear bumper
I have a 07 550i non msport model. I was looking into getting a rear bumper to quad my exhaust preferably one that will allow me to keep the rear deflectors that are just below the mid portion of the OEM E60 bumper where the it looks like you can pull that portion off. 1. Can that piece be removed? Well I came across this RD-S style rear lip on CARID.com for the E60 and it has the cut outs for quad exhaust and it shows the Reflectors still on the bumper because its just a piece that goes in the place I explained. I called CARID and the sales guy said it was an overlay and I said how could that be because the OEM bumper is not a quad bumper and the OEM has that Lil lip at the bottom the goes outwards. And he said it was an overlay and I said how could it lay flush with the OEM lip at the bottom. 2. Would I have to cut that lip off and cut out a space for the exhaust to fit the passenger side???? Has anyone on this site used this bumper piece? Why can't I just pull that portion of my OEM off and attach the RD-S because the E60 rear bumper looks like it's a 2 piece anyway at that crease by the reflectors. Can anyone shed some light on this for me or am I trying to do too much work

It sounds like you want to put on a OEM Msport rear bumper and convert that to Quads.. Is that correct. If so the piece you describe as potentially removable is not removable. Its all one piece. In order to get quads you would have to cut out the space for the extra set of pipes. Its been done with posts somewhere on this forum.
The only diffuser I found for sale on CARID fits a M5 only. Msports have a different diffuser. From my understanding a OEM M5 rear will not fit on a non- M5. At least without major mods.
Good luck

My car is a stock 550i. The bumper piece I found on CARID is for any e60 it's looks like a wrap around apron with quad cut outs. I like that piece bc It allows me to keep my rear deflectors I was just wondering if the lower portion of my stock oem bumper where the reflectors meet could come off. But now it looks like the answer is no and I have to cut out the space on the rear passenger side for the exhaust and wrap the RDS quad piece around my bumper.. it on the carid website I put 2007 bmw 5series and clicked on body kits then I scrolled down to the duraflex kit that shows the rear first and that the one. The price says $287.00

Hey please dont just cut the bottom of your bumper to fit quads...it looks horrible!
the M5 bumper fits perfect with no modding at all besides fixing you exhaust system to fit.
Its more work to switch to the msport bumper with modding needed to make it fit.
