Hey guys I was just parking at work and i noticed that i was a little off from the curb so i went back in to start the car. and the power was completly shut off. The alarm wont work, the key fob doesnt open the doors. The head lights do not turn on. NOTHING!

it wont even crank

I dont know if i some how tunred on a lock or something. or if its the battery or an electrical prob. I thought Id try and check here and see if you guy might now something before i call to get it towed.

Let it go dormant for about 20 minutes and try starting it again. It probably needs to re set itself.

I hope.. it just sucks its friday. I just got my car out of the shop yesterday after a month. Im thining the shop my have not installed the eletrical parts in correctly and it shorted...but it was a very good shop... i ll check back in half in hour with you guys

Ouch gl One thing, you said the key fob wont open the doors and it wont crank. if you can't open the doors, how can you try and crank it? Sorry to be pedantic, but there might be an important detail that could be the difference between nobody replying, or somebody saying "ah, that sounds familiar, try this!".

Oh sorry,I should have been a little more clear.

I can open the driver side door by insterting the key manually, but i can only open that(driver side) door if i turn the key twice it wont open all doors like it should. Also if i push the lock or unlock button on the key fob it wont lock or unlock the doors.

Everything is off, except the brake light and the airbag light, but the brake is not up, so it should be off as well.



Guys any help would be great.

I let it sit for awhile i just went down to try and it didnt work... i think i might have to get it towed... this blows

Please tell us the year and model. Have you checked the battery?

its a 2004 530 and yes

do you think i should disconnect the terminals for the battery...
