Help: Only Radio Working on 2006 530 XI

What's up, new to the forum and sad I haven't joined sooner.
I have a 2006 530 XI that is having some pretty annoying sound problems.
My IDrive (without the Nav) system is not reading any MP3's CD's (and never has) and now any Audio CD's I create are not playing at all either.
My vehicle didn't come stock with the IPOD adaptor, so I am SOL on any music on some high traffic commutes.
Do you guys have any suggestions?

i believe you can have the car programmed to play mp3s.

My Ride: 06' BMW 530xi
The 6 disc changer doesn't play mp3 CDs .. if you have mp3 it should be in the center under the climate contorls ... Try using a non burnt CD and see if it works some bootleg CDs don't work only original cds
