Help a newbie with E60 LCI headlight bulb replacement!
Guys, I am sorry if the question sounds a little naive but I have been pretty confused by all the information on the forums. So if someone can please help me out in my predicament which is as follows:
I have a 2009 E60 LCI with xenon lights and today the left headlight first went a bit orange-ish and then stopped working completely. (On board computer now shows a 'Left Low beam failure')
What bulb do I need to replace? I will go to a local indy to get it installed but I want to make sure I am getting the right part that is of reasonable quality too. And how much will it set me back by? I don't mind installing a non-OEM part if the price difference between OEM and non-OEM is too big. Go easy on me guys. First post! ; )
UPDATE:
Further researching on the forum has been revealing. I have discovered (most likely) that the bulb in my LCI headlamp is Osram D1S xenon HID.
Can someone please confirm this? Also is it important to get a OSRAM brand bulb? or are there other manufacturers that are equally good? Osram seems to be quite pricey from what I can see online.
Any help is much appreciated. And thank you guys in advance.

Hopefully you Indy has two bulbs to install for you. Replacing just the defective bulb will not be the same as what you have and will look different at night. Mine haven't gone out yet, but I have even heard that replacing it with the exact same OEM bulb it still doesn't look the same... I will soon be purchasing two and putting them away until I need them.

Do you recommend both right and left headlight bulbs to be changed? One is still working fine.
What brand are you going to buy for yours?
