My car is a 2007 530i. The wood trim located in the rear of the console with the power jacks and Aux jack keeps falling out. It hangs with the wire attached. Part is

It appears this part is ok since it has clips (one on each side) but it is not clear to me how it holds into place. What piece would have the mating part of the clips? Any help is appreciated.

If your car is still within the warranty time and mileage frame, I suggest you take your car to the dealer and let them figure it out. G/L

Already tried that but they didn't fix it. I wanted to be able to define what needs to be done.

I remembered a thread from back in 2004 where Lomag posted DIY instructions on how to change out the trim on the rear console to a wood one since early cars came with a plastic insert.

I found the thread but the links to the pics are broken. Hopefully Lomag will see this and fix his post and the links it contains...

I have the same problem.

I used a tiny amount of superglue and hey presto its fixed!
