Help Need Someone Local To Reset Passanger Restraint
 

I swear all I did was change my battery and then that dang Passenger Restraint System error message came on along with a bunch of other notifications.

The dealer wants $180 diagnostics fee before turning it off just to make sure its not legit.

I just need it reset.

I later found out that I needed a memory keeper before changing the battery. Hindsight 20/20.

Does anyone know of a place local to San Diego who can simply reset it? Thanks.

I bought a and found out it was not an actual airbag error. It is a 93B2 Safety battery terminal issue. Hmm. That makes sense because the error popped up after I replaced my battery and maybe I buggered up that wire. But does anyone know which wire it is? Is it the one that comes out of the top of the positive (red +) cable?

Check around the positive cable and make sure nothing got unplugged

Today, I disconnect the positive terminal cable to have a look see. When I reconnected it after fiddling around for awhile and then connected the BST connector, I was finally able to erase the 93B2 code and the Passenger Restraint System error immediately went away. :)

I am thinking maybe that small two-wire cable is intermittent.

I would love to replace it but 1) I could not figure out how to disconnect it from the positive cable and 2) I could not find anyone who sells just that part of the cable. They want you to buy the entire positive cable instead.

That farging 93B2 error came back basically just to piss me off. I got it to clear again but I had to disconnect and reconnect the battery three times to get it to clear this time. I don't know what was up with that because it usually takes just one time.

I read where this other dude said you have to 1) disconnect trigger wire, 2) turn car on and it should error, 3) turn car off, 4) disconnect battery, 5) reconnect batt, 6) reconnect trigger wire, 7) turn on car, 8) clear code, 9) turn car off, then on.

I don't know about all that.

My reader says turn the car off for 10 seconds and then on. I never have to do that as the code usually clears immediately upon erasing it (after I disconnect and reconnect the batt).

That video was little to no help. I always search YouTube first before posting here.

I'm almost sure its the BST trigger wire. I don't want to do the delete trick and definitely do not want to purchase a new positive+ cable. I stated that I was able to clear the notification. I just never know when its going to happen again though.

When you changed your battery how would the BST trigger wire get damaged?

Its kinked (see red arrow) and flexes whenever you disconnect the battery.

I got the 93B2 error before when I was working on the car. It was getting dark and I wasn't quite finished. I put the battery terminal back on (so I can turn the alarm on for the night) and wanted to finish in the morning. 2 days later when finally driving the car, I got the error. It turns out that I forgot to completely tighten the battery connector when I put it back. If the system measures too much of a resistance on the battery cable, it will throw an error. I then tightened the battery, cleared the code, and it hasn't come back. Clean the battery posts and make sure there is a really good connection.
