Please help me if you have have the "Increased Emissions" Check Engine warning light come on.

I took my E60 to the dealer who reprogrammed the vehicle then told me they would have to put the car through a "drive cycle" to see if the fix worked. These guys put over 40 miles on my car. Please tell me if this was your experience. I need to know if I can trust this dealership.

Mine had an extra 20 miles on it.

This has happened to mine twice now. What the dealer has told me is that it's from taking the gas cap off while the key is in, or the gas cap was not screwed on tightly enough. mine was easly re-set at the dealership. I don't know if this helps,

I had that on a 730d (E65), it came on twice in a week.
The car was smoking a bit.
The answer was a visit to the dealer.
They reprogramed the software and changed the intercooler for a new one.
The diesel engine has a intercooler and it seems that they had a recall service on some 3.0 diesel engines.
Until the moment no warning light on and no smoke.
It's running real fine, it reachs 4.500 rpm and 250 Km/h in the speedometer, not bad for a diesel with 2 tons.
