Help! My 1st problem.
Earlier today my display screen disappeared, its blank. No stereo, i-drive, nav, etc. Anyone have an idea what the problem may be before I bring it to the dealer? 2300 mi outside the warranty..it figures! Car info is below.

Possibly a bad TCU or CCC.

My 4 months old brand new 2008 535i had the same problem 2 weeks ago. CCC unit is bad or something, so they need to replace it.
Bring the car in and let them check, don't wait, something worse could happen like me where all the interior lights shut off. it'll freak u out badly especially night time.

Well it is working fine now and I did nothing.
I've had the exact same problem, seemed to surface about once a month. I would let the idrive completely reset (let it sit for 20 minutes or longer) then it would come back on. I was under warranty though and had the dealer do a software upgrade and it hasn't gone blank since.

After 3 days in the shop they are replacing the CCC, the battery and installing new software. Ouch!
well, did they charge you for it since its so close to warranty expiration. If not, what was the cost?
