And i forgot to mention this: what are the diffeneces between LC and Launch Assist. The technical differences. I know one is for the SMG-M gearboxes and one for the non-M but what else? Is there difference in how they work?

This is what I know about the differences between M and non-M launches. M cars can hold their RPMs to their desired point and launch whereas non-M cars don't have that option. Non-M cars dump the clutch at 4000RPMs.

LOL Ok ultimate question then? What do you think causes more stress/wear on the components between using LC and BT in a SMG/Steptronic gearbox. Cars submited to the same treatment, wich one would give away first? The clutch in the smg, or the torque converter in the steptronic? Anyone willing to bet?
PS: I want my next bmw to be SMG for SURE!!! And btw Launch Control sounds way better than Brake Torque doesn't it?
I got 2 to 1 that the clutch goes out first

To add a little more clearification

In Europe only... LC can vary from 3K rpms to 5500rms... you adjust it by using the cruise control stalk.

IN the US LC is launched at a very low RPM... 1200 or somthing low like that...

Acceleration Assist on the Non-M5s lanuchs at 4000rpms.
