Dark Blue colours always work well with tan, brown or beige personally black makes for too dark a combination.

Call me colour blind but I can't see any kind of cream or brown "going with" blue.
I must be half colour blind because I think the cream would look very nice with blue
but not the darkish brown

Black is always right!

Black is always.... errr... black and reminds me of a cab.

I prefer more subtle shade matching which must be:

Monochromatic Colour

is one that uses shades or tints of the same colour. It is a simple yet effective colour scheme.

Others are:

Analogous Colour

scheme is one where adjacent colours on the colour wheel are combined. Suitable for modern as well as period interiors, it is harmonious and pleasing to the eye.

Triadic Colour

scheme combines the three equidistant colours which occur at the points of an equilateral triangle placed anywhere on the colour wheel. This is a sophisticated colour scheme and is especially good for modern interiors.

Complementary Colour

scheme is one where colours exactly opposite each other on the colour wheel are used. It requires a highly trained colour sense to be able to use this scheme effectively.

Thanks Guys

I tend to agree with ABC about browns not going with blues....its a bit like never wearing brown shoes with a blue suit. I guess it M Blue with Black Dakota Lthr then.....of course I could aways go for Space Grey with Natural Brown.....Oh NO lets not re open the debate on the paint, I wanted a changefrom Grey!!

Thanks again.... still trying to persuade the wife to think about S grey and saddle brown but she seems kenn on black on black

Good evening Speuk,

I decided a month ago on this combo Space grey - natural brown for an E61 touring. I did because otherwise the whole interior would be all black.
I saw the color in real life as an Porsche naturbraun sample, and will be fitted after delivery.
I'm sure that either this combo or the dark (deep sea? or Monaco) blue/naturbrown will be a perfect match.

If you do, you will never be disappointed. I know, being a painter, that color/taste is extremely personal, but these choices will be a hit.

Take your time, (both you and your wife), to watch the sample color at your dealer.

Good luck.

Surely you don't want to be driving a cab for several years!

Why not consider the grey Dakota?

BMW themselves quite often show Dark Blue Metalic with brown or tan interior so they must think it works as a combination.

Hi All

Just about to finalise my order for a 535dSE LCI model.

Paintwork will be Monaco blue and my default choice for the leather sports seats is black but what do think about the new dark blue or natural brown two tone interiors???

Trim will be black hi gloss.

I saw a 3 series coupe in Space Grey with Saddle Brown Dakota leather today and thought it looked great.... may order this colour combo for my wife.

Thanks in anticipation

Simon
blue+braun is classy!!!
