Hey guys thanks for taking the time to take a look at my thread! I just needed some help+advice+tips on my suspension problem! I recently had my car lowered on the H&R sports and after I did I'm hearing this clanking/loud clicking noise coming from the front suspension. I was told it isn't my shocks it self because when they tried bouncing the suspension on both sides no noise but when I drove and went over bumps you can hear the noise. I was told that the problem is the front two Stabilizer Arm Link's and that they need to be changed. Can any one with similar problems or any knowledge in regards to this problem share any advice?!?! thanks in advanced guys. I inquired about the parts with my local BMW dealer and they want $400 just for the parts would any one know any aftermarket companies that make reliable ones for cheaper?
I found this website and they have both for under $100bucks :S should I get these or not ? http://www.carpartsdiscount.com/auto...html?3594=1971

ANY AND ALL HELP WELCOME THANKS!!!

do you have a jack or car ramps? lift it up and see for yourself if anything is loose.

Two of your mounts have gone bad , suspension mounts.. I don't know the exact name but they tend to go bad over time , it resembled an engine mount. The total price was about 380 installed.

Good luck ~

Check your upper control arm bushings as well, that may be it.

is the sound come when u push the brake??!! I also have a clicking noise only when I press on the brake, my SA said there is something wrong with the suspension. I went to a specialist in bmw cars and he said that the brake pads and rotors need to be cleaned. I still didnt do anything yet but I thought that might help u. btw I dont have any lowering kits installed on the car

It could also be misaligned springs, old/worn out spring pads - or spring guides, whatever they're called. It could be the strut mount bearings. I would definitely start by lifting the car up and checking all the suspension joints and linkages. That's step one. Step two, I'd go over the front suspension with a torque wrench and re-torque the front end to spec (come to think of it, I've gotta do that myself ).

I've been getting some clunking and grinding noises up front since not too long after installing the H&R springs and Bilstein B8's, I just got my new upper control arm bushings - will have them swapped out and will report whether that does the job. In my case, they are in need of replacement anyhow, so I didn't have a choice about that - if you lift the car up and take a pry bar to them, you will be able to clearly see if they are cracked, relatively easy to check. I also think I'll have to swap out the spring guides at some point, because I used my old ones when I put on the new suspension... wish I thought of it when the whole thing was apart
