Help deciding what spacer and tire specs for this 166
#1
Well I finally found what I been looking for .. a set of 166 in 19s
But the offsets will require some spacing and correct size tires.
Here are the specs of the rims:
F: 19x9 ET 37 (Need 20mm spacers/adaptors to get down to ET 12?)
R: 19x9.5 ET 28 (Need 10mm spacers to get down to ET 18?)
What spacers would I need to make them look flush with the fenders without any rubbing? I'm currently on stock suspension.
Also what tire specs should I get? I'm thinking of 245/40/19 and 275/35/19. I'm going for the stock setup look of the M5, but without as thick of rubbers.
Also note that my fronts are 9" wide.
Appreciate your inputs and some sample pics. Thx guys.

I'll defer to others on spacers.
166s are good looking wheels. Good luck with them.

Hmm, I've been thinking about getting the common 245/35/19 and 275/30/19, but the stock M5 setup is 255/40/19 and 285/35/19.
Will there be any rubbing if I get that setup?
I'm still thinking about dropping it on eibach for a mild lowering, but my stock springs have settled at the same height as the sport springs now, so not much of a difference.

The main rubbing issue here are the fronts, the backs Ive seen people run 285 and 295 rears, but that changes your overall diameter, so its debatable
If you get the M5 set up (255/40) then I have heard there will be rubbing. You need to go with the (245/35) set up in the front.

I tried fitting the front on, but weirdly I couldn't get it to clear the fender.
This was what I did:
The front rim is 19x9 ET 37
First I put on a 15mm spacer, so I got 22 offset.
This barely cleared the strut (car was lifted 1 foot up on the jack)
Then I put on a 20mm spacer, it cleared the strut by 6mm or so, but the wheel was protruding way out from the fender (car still on the jack).
Since I didn't have the tire on the wheel, I couldn't really put it down on the ground to see the final setup.
I heard many people got 9" wide rims for the front without issues, what kinda setup is needed for this to work?
