Default Help on Car Value 550i

Hi all,

I own a 2007 550i with around 99,000 miles. I'm looking to buy a new car soon and will be trading this one in. The car currently needs the Valve Stem Leak repair done which I know is pricey.

Any of y'all have similar experiences with trading in? How much can I reasonably expect? Is the repair gonna make my trade in useless?

thanks

Just did the valve stem seals job on my 07 550i at 121k miles I have 123k now. I just blue booked last week. Resale from dealer $8500, trade in value to the dealer $4800 -$5500 and sale by owner was $7600 that's what the bank told me and the dealer quoted me almost the same prices

Thanks for the info! I was quoted $5100 to get the stem seal job done, so I figured its not worth doing because the car is barely worth that much. Those prices are with the repair done, correct?

There's plenty of mechanics that do the job for $2500 out the door. Check bimmerfest for topics about it.

No I was just checking on the value of my car.. but I paid $3000 for my valve stem job and it included motor mounts and the alternator seals and the timing seals. If I would 9f been thinking while the engine was out I should of changed out the coolant pipe I keep hearing about that goes bad. But my indy guy said I didn't need it.
