Help Car doesnt start

You can still get a few cranks out of a bad starter. Remember the age old trick of tapping it to free it up. Of course thats only prolonging the inevitable. How did it sound when it started last? Was it a quick consistent crank our was it sluggish or with slight pausing? Did you already rule out the ignition switch?

have you guys tried replacing the possitive cable? mine didnt start as well.. all I did was buy a new possitive cable for 160$ and replaced it myself, cleaned the ground and it started like a brand new car.

wont get a few cranks if it is a bad starter solenoid

True. But the solenoid is a special order part. By the time he removes the starter he's not going to ave any patience left to replace the solenoid.

My car did the same thing, lots of power, full electrical function, no start. Towed it in, replaced the starter, has been fine since.

Prior to the final no start I had a couple of occaisons earlier in the day of press the button and no start, but it fired up after a bit of waiting, cussing and pressing buttons......

I believe the CEL stays on in key position 2 aka ON, I've once had the same problem, I ended up buying a new battery, then everything worked fine
