It took me about half a day first time I did it but I had to go backin a couple days later and it took maybe two hours because I knew exactly what I was doing. I've attached the DIY, you need to stick to the order it does matter.

I looked at the PDF. Most of this is unnecessary. Just look at steps 48 down. Take out your CCC/M-ASK and the plastic frame. And expose the plastic covering the blower. If you see on his PDF #58 you can see the Final stage unit (it's the one with the heat sink. There's no need to take all of this trim and center console stuff off. It should take about one hour and about 2.5 if you've never done it before.

Gee_115 i assume this is not your car since it's a EU car.

No, not my car nor my DIY, all credit to the guy who made it, great job. I found it somewhere on this forum. The car in the DIY is a euro car but everything was the same underneath.

Take it from someone who has done it, twice. All these steps are absolutely necessary. The face plate doesn't come out if the ashtray is still, thus you have to remove the trim with the idrive controller. You have to remove three air ducts to get to remove the fan cover and take out the fan to r&r the regulator. The center rear duct sits in front of the fan (step 48), you cannot remove that unless the center console is removed and the duct underneath is removed. You cannot get to the screws to remove the fan cover if the left and right front foot well vents are not removed, you have to remove the glove box and foot well cover to remove those. Also, you will not be able to disconnect the regulator if the fan is not removed. Like the DIY says stick to reverse order, I also deviated and had to go back.

Even so it is not as bad as it looks, kinda intimidating but once you get going its a piece of cake just have several diffrent tools you will run into phillips head and different sized torx.

Which fuse please?

I'd like to give that a try first.

AchtungE60 is usually quick with answers, maybe he is on a vacation. Check the fuse diagrams in the tool kit cover in the trunk.

I'm not sure which fuse it is, my first BMW was a E46.
