If your charging system output is better than 12V at idle, your battery may not be able to hold a charge. It is not unusual for a battery to show OK and even show 12v when checked with a VOM.
But it only takes one bad cell to prevent the same battery to stay sufficiently charged even just overnight.

I just had my 545 in the shop for the same problem. I drove the car a couple a days earlier with no problems. Got in the car after two days and the battery was completely dead. The dealer check the battery and charged it. They couldn't find anything drawing the power.

Update - After over a week in the shop, my mechanic narrowed it down to a faulty battery. Although the battery was brand new and the place i bought it from recommended it and said it would work fine in a BMW - it didnt. I have had my car back for about 5 days now and it starts up perfectly everytime. The best part about this is the battery my mechanic put in for me was $25 less than the one from Murray's Auto!

a long story short, my brand new car battery wont keep a charge. all interior lights, alarm and night settings were left off overnight. the alternator was checked and ok. what could cause this???
thanks
some more info that may help: battery was tested and is fine. i kept the car in the garage for a week and it started up just fine and decided to leave my car outside in my driveway overnight and the battery was dead. I can easily jump it in the morning and it will start threwout the day but not the following morning.
thanks

my car has been in at the dealership for the last two weeks for the exact problem. first they replaced the idrive screen and gave me a new battery. after having the car for 4 days the car alarm woke me up at 6 am because the battery was completely dead. i dropped off my car last Tuesday and called them today, the SA said that they have contacted BMW of NA. they have no clue whats draining the battery and they have no idea when they will figure it out. all i can do is just wait and drive my shitty Chrysler 300 they gave me again.
Just take to the dealership!!

Have them check for a faulty Micro Power Control Module (MPM). On older E60's, the unit sits in the spare tire well in the trunk - an area prone to moisture damage. The MPM controls the 'sleep' phase of the vehicle - a period of ordered shut-down of high-current vehicle systems after a pre-determined period. If the MPM is faulty, current draws for various systems will be at full power and will lead to battery drain.
