Hey guys, just thinking about retrofitting heated seats into my car. Correct me if im wrong, but aren't the heating elements in the foam part of the seat and not the leather? Because when you go to realoem it says that the foam can be used with our without heated seats. they only have 1 kind. Am I wrong thinking this? Thanks.

I recently faced a similar dilemma by purchasing a CA car. It did not come with cold weather package and I live in NJ where we get winter for a solid 4-5 months.
After some research, I was told that a retro fit is very hard. It not only requires the heated elements, but also you have to change the harness. I was under the impression that it might be plug and play.

I had mine done last January. They did an awesome job and it cost about $300 CDN, for both driver and passenger seats. You have to take it to a car upholstery place. It is so similar you could not tell the difference. The only diffrence is where you have the switch. I put mine right in front of where you adjust bolstering on the seat. It is a 3 way switch. HI/LOW/OFF. I thought it would be tough, but it is very easy for them to do.
