Recently member inquired about difficulty in getting heat inside of car. Have had my 2008 528xi for only 2 weeks and noticed same problem. However since the third day check engine light has been on. Brought it into BMW, and tlod them of the problem. Well thermostat is the problem. They are replacing it. Has anyone noticed that the small white lines tach dont disappear anymore as the car warms up

The white bars no longer move on the '08 LCI cars.

Adjusting the heat - besides adjusting the 2 temp knobs you can adjust the heat distribution by pushing in on the center knob (the one with the green bar when automatic is on) and you'll see a ventilation screen come up on the display. Using the I-drive controller (wheel) you can increase the heat or decrease it by turning the controller. You'll see red bars or blue bars on the diagram. The effect should be obvious.

I just had mine replaced along with my water pump for lower than normal volume, and have not noticed the white hash marks going down any further than before. But daaaam that heat is sure booming now I can literally put it on 72 on a 18 degree day and have to roll down the friggin windows because it is so much heat and I love it Thanks BMW Midlothian
