ANYONE KNOWS WHAT THE NOISE IS FROM WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED AND YOU OPEN A DOOR? THE SOUND IS LIKE A LITTLE ELECTRIC MOTOR DOING SOMETHING FOR A QUICK SECOND, IS THIS NORMAL OR IS IT JUST MY CAR?

Do you have Logic 7? When I get home and open my trunk I can hear the amp fan cooling it off. That could be what you are hearing.

Normal - they all do that. Logic 7 or not.

My 2005 530i does the same thing. Service manager said that it's normal, but didn't know exactly which component or module was causing the noise.

It's the car waking up. I think the SMG cars make even more noise because some pump has to pressurize the system that operates the clutch...

Yes all cars do this, I mean regardless engine or transmission or logic7.
My 530i with no logic 7 does it too as well as VW Jetta too it simply "warms and wakes" up the car..... probablyand mostly electronics + computer and "spark plugs" getting ready....

Mine makes similar noises. I thought it was the DVD?? Is it possible that the door unlocking or opening of the door starts drive booting up? Makes sense, I suppose

As I said totaly same noise is done by VW Jetta 1.6 with totaly no electronics, manual tranny...... so it must be either engine chip+electronics or the "starting mechanism-spark plugs"+gas pump......voltage boost....
