Hello friends! I have this problem: I recently purchased a BMW E60 520i and the eyebrow of the headlights is not working. Do you know anything about this problem? What shoul I do? The headlights are bi-xenon and other than that they are working perfect.
Thank you very much and I'm wainting for your answers.

There was a version of software that had a bug where the eyebrows didn't illuminate. It was fixed in a later version so you're best bet is to take it to a dealer and they'll fix it by updating the software...

You're welcome.

Just in case your dealer is one of the clueless ones, print this out and let them see it:

One quick question -- what year is your car? Does it have Bluetooth? MP3 playback capability? Depending on when your car was built, these are some things that can be retroffitted during the software update. Usually, a dealer won't charge anything extra for doing these retrofits as long as the software update is required to fix a warranted problem (assuming your car is under warranty.) If you were to ask for these retrofits during a time when no software update is needed, you might have to pay for them...

Thank you very much for helping me. My car is from may 2004 so unfortunatelly I don't have the warranty any more. Tomorrow morning I will go to the dealer's service and I will see there if they charge me or not . Anyway I hope it is not too expensive.

I don't know about Romania but in the USA, I'm pretty sure that those eyebrow lights are required by law. Since they are not functioning due to a software error and no fault of your own, you could make the case that the car is defective and not legal (or safe) for street use. After making that case, I'm thinking that it could be treated more like a recall and not a warranty item where BMW would fix the problem at no charge to you...

They needed to replace a power supply when they fixed mine. So it may not be a software issue. Good Luck.
