I think I may have a software or electrical issue with my light. I have a 07 530i and I can't get the inner headlights to come on. When I reference inner lights I'm referring to lights 2 and 3, counting right to left, in the front of the car. I've tried all the settings: Automatic, Park, off, etc. And, none of these settings seem to activate those two headlight. Can anyone advise?

If you have Bi-Xenon headlamps, those "inner" lights are used only for the "flash to pass" feature (and/or the DRL feature if activated.)

Try pulling back on the turn signal switch and see what happens...

And DRL can only be activated/deactivated by dealer, at least in US (why?).

DRL is activated from within i-drive settings

I think the answer to that one is, "blame Canada!"

I think North American cars share the same software versions and in Canada, DRL use is mandatory.

I'm not 100% sure about this so if someone knows a better explanation, please share it...

I called the dealer today. 1hr labor ($105.00) and then it's done. I'm not sure DRL is worth $105.00.

As part of the delivery process, my dealer asked me if I wanted the DRL activated, no charge. I might ask your sales person why they were not activated before delivery since in states where not required by law it is a customer preference and should have been take care of for you.

Definitely not worth it, they look awful.... Now, if the dealer could activate the angel lights as DRLs, that would be sweet ( I know they are not bright enough, but still sweet)

Cant you take the car for some in-warranty fix (like CPI upgrade or something) and get it activated same time?
