My Ride: e60 530i - SOLD!

my e60 is coming to five years old... i have a bi-xenon headlight on it.
Had a "parking light" fault registered on the i-drive..
a simple job of trying to change the bulb assembly turned into nightmare as the wirings insulator flaked off exposing the wires bare. shorting each other out upon handling.
Those wires seem like been cooked and are too fragile to be touched at all!
does this mean i have to change to whole head light unit for a blown bulb just because the wire insulator? what a design
anyone has the same experience?
wondering how would BMW spec the wire insulator in the headlight unit for such application environment to begin with...
