I have 2006 530i and the headlights are starting to look really old. I had them polished and that got the yellowing off and smoothed them out, but they still look hazy on the inside. Is there anything else I can do? I was thinking I might just replace them. Any ideas on cost?

I would atleast try a headlight kit that includes sandpaper in varying grits that you sand down the plastic with progressively smoother sandpaper. Then you need a power polisher such as the porter cable with a couple different strenght pads to finish it off. A yellow pad and orange pad will do with a grittier polish at first than a finer polish to finish. I did my lights last year and got them back to new. If you truly have haze behind the lens that is a different issue.

My car came from texas and the headlights were beat! No matter what I did I cannot get them to look good again, sanded, buffed, sanded, buffed all different sand papers too. I can't sand them anymore I wish bmw would sell fricking lenses. I just decided last week that I'm just not going to look at them anymore.

I recently used a 3M kit. I wish i took before and after pictures. I'll tell you, INCREDIBLE. You will spend about 2 hours doing it yourself, and will spend like 20 bucks. I was literally blown away!
check this out:
At first i was skeptical, but this really works and lasts.

i used the mother's power ball kit in conjuction with sandpaper to remove some yellowed clearcoat off my headlights.
my steps:
wet sandpaper:
600 grit
1000 grit
1500 grit
2000 grit
sand with each for around 10 minutes, using plenty of water. then switch to the powerball kit, following the sanding directions with the included pads:

same as sandpaper, 10 minutes all over and plenty of water. then polish with the powerball and it should be glass smooth and perfectly clear. i wish i had before pics because my headlights were pretty awful. one thing to note is that you can do ALOT of damage with the sandpaper. the little pads included in the mother's kit are way less powerful than even 2000 grit, so be careful that you don't put deep scratches in the headlights.
