Further to my earlier post in the active steering topic, can anyone tell me why i have no headlight adjustment on my headlights.I do not have bi-xenons so my headlights should have hight adjustment which they do not, any ideas ?

i'm not sure what do you mean by height adjustment. however, by looking at your car's options and packages, seems like you don't have adaptive xenon lighting package. maybe this is the reason why. also, i don't think e60 has bi-xenons at all, even as option.

You mean the ride height/weight adjustment (dip adjustment) [common on Europe cars?]
Wondering if they now automatically choose the dip of the headlights on non xenons??

I would think they're there somewhere. I thought pretty much all cars have had and do have a way to adjust verticle/horizontal position. My suggestion is to keep looking or maybe that very friendly person posting diagrams of cool stuff can clue us in. It may be worth finding one of his posts and PM'ing him. Good luck.

alohalc,
E60 does have bi-xenons. They always have. All vehicles with bi-xenons or the adaptive bi-xenons have automatic headlight height adjustment, so no rolling dial switch next to lights knob. I'm surprised that 530dse does not have them. They should have then on non xenon cars. I had height adjustment on my E46 320iSE and 325iSE as they had non xenon i.e normal halogen lights.
The rotating dial is next to the light cluster of switches. Usually one for the interior dimming of the dashboard lighe and the other the headlight height adjustment.

alohalc,
I think u do have bi-xenons but u didn't realise it.
When your dipped headlights are on. If you pull back on the left-hand stalk (for flashing) the halogen headlight is activated. If you push the stalk forward for a constant headlight, that is the xenon light. It uses mirrors to give the xenon effect i.e. bi-xenons. You will notice the difference in the colour of the light by pulling or pushing the left stalk. Give it a try.

You can also try to park your car facing a wall, then switch the headlights on and you will see how they adjust themselves. Then you know you have autoleveling headlights.

alohalc,
No probs. Don't worry you will have bi-xenons.
Iceman,
The normal non-xenons will also adjust themselves when lights are first switched on. I've experienced that from my previous E46s. I think that's a normal procedure when the lights are first switched on.
