My mechanic charged me ?60 to fix this, but he updated two more modules at the same time. If you don't want to pay you can fix this yourself. Search the forum and there is a thread where a member explains how do to this. You need to run some wires from LCM if I remember correctly.
Cheers for the input kekkos.

if you blow up your LCM that'll cost you dearly. Check with your SA on pricing to do a software update and maybe a new LCM. I had to get both on my 2005 545i for the same problem. FYI you can try and convince the SA that the car will not pass inspection without these lights on, as this is true in some states. Tell them since its a legal issue and something you can't do on your own, they should do it for free. I'm not sure which states have this law though, sorry.

Cheers but what is the LCM? In the UK i don't think it's a requirement as we don't have to have marker lamps. Is the SA the UK equivalent of our MOT test (Ministry Of Transport test)

LCM stands for Lighting Control Module which basically controls all of the lights in the car. The SA is your service advsior at your local BMW dealership. Sorry about all the lingo, I sometimes forget just how many countries this forum reaches. I would also get a second opinion from a good repair shop in your area, just to make sure you don't get screwed on the price from BMW.
