When I ordered my M5 I didn't take the optional HUD, because I thought it was standard equipment for the M5. Later I realise it was an option 
and now i want to have it installed and wondering if it is possible

Ask your dealer to order you and do it a proper and fast job, you will not regret it. I have no M5 nor Nav so all I see are messages and the speed, but I luv its a must not a gadget
