Hello,

I wonder if I can pull out the driver side head restraint. (05 545i)
I need to attach a neck support and put the restraint back in.

Thank you.

To the OP:

this thread refers to it briefly..

http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=24075&st=0

"Start by first raising the the headrest all the way up. Pull firmly on the headrest upwards to unclip it from the raising mechanism. Set aside. Next to remove the back of the seat, it is easier to unclip one side at a time. First push in firmly on the side of the backrest and pull outward. It's a little tricky but you need a lot of force to push in the side. A little wiggling might help too."

Thank you for your reply.
I tried my best to pull it out of the seat before I break any raising mechanism as suggested above.
However, I could not pull it out. I was afraid that I may break something.
Have anyone tried to pull it out like "Pull firmly on the headrest upwards to unclip it from the raising mechanism"?
I also asked it to BMW dealer, but they refused to do it under warranty.

Thank you.

hi

this is easy i just did this from my car to fit tvs, raise headrest fully by the seat control then turn engine off, and just pull, i asked my dealer and said it wont break or effect mec as you have raised it up past it all, then when u refit u push it in it clicks then raise it doen by seat control very easy!!!
