Hey guys,
my 2004 525i with only 34k miles on it is acting up a little bit. Everything mechanical is good, knock on wood but my stereo is messed up. When i play the radio and cd's, the music goes away and a loud static noise comes from the speakers. This happens on and off and is most annoying. Has anyone else experienced this and can give some insight on what the actual problem is?

I had something similar with my radio, but it just cut off and came back on once in a while, and didn't have static. It turns out the alternator was going bad and since i replaced it, its back to normal. It could be that. Does your car have extended warranty? if so, ask the dealer to check your alternator and see if it needs to be replaced.
Good luck.

Also on cold starts, it sounds really bad when i turn over the engine. It almost sounded like something is getting scrapped
