Iam trying to remove my front strut of my 535xi. All bolts are out. Its just to get the strut out of the bottom part that is connected to the axle (i dont know the name of it).
Any ideas ?

Looks like you already removed that long bolt that holds the collar around that strut.
Take a cold chisel or some similar tool and 'spread' that collar where you removed that bolt.

you need to use a steering knuckle spreader, or something that will act as a spreader, and open the retaining collar on the knuckle. I'd also shoot some WD40 in there too to loosen things up.

I used a 1/2 to 3/8 socket adapter, a short stubby one. Insert the 3/8 end in the gap, use the 1/2 breaker bar turn the adapter slowly (like a quarter turn) till the diagonal of the 3/8 end spread it wide enough to get the strut out. Hope the picture help. Good luck.

Ok got the strut loose in the knuckle now when i pull up to take the strut out it can't. I already loosened the tie rod and endlink. Is there something else i need to loosen or take off to get the strut out ?
