I'm curious about how frequently CIP versions are loaded onto our E60 computers ... related to having 3rd party tuning software over-written.

I asked once, used all info from here, thx guys  it was free! (now I have all working even better, mp3 text, etc. CIP21).

I've had 3 in total. All done with service, never asked for one.

Once updated to 19.2.

Did ask for it and the car works perfectly since.

Why would I need one? Got a 3 week old E60

Never if everything works and you're not missing any fucntions. Unless they come up with somthing new.

a E60 can only be updated a maximum of 13 times in its lifespan before you have to change out the whole module.
