Something strange must have happened!

My third summer with the same 245/40 18" Dunlop RF's have just
started and the tyres feels good!?

I have 4-5 mm of the tread left on each wheel and did fill the pressures
+0,2 of the lower recommandation.

I must admit that last summer I did NOT check the pressures even once

I did do that one week before changing to winter wheels:
They where 0,7 - 0,8 low

My saying is, check the tyre pressures at least once a month!

When I took delivery of my car in September 2005 with Bridgestone RFT I thought that the tires was rubbish but now I think they're great. Strange but I'm happy .

I had a bad set of Dunlop runflats on my car so i complained to the dealer ( real noisy and very crapy ride ) and they exchanged them for a new set of improved dunlop runflats i think they drive great

Did your dealer offer you the choice of the new Bridgestone RFTs instead of the Dunlops? I think most of the new cars are being delivered with Bridgestones these day and people like them better as well.

Curious Ric, Tires usually feel more harsh as the tread wears down.

As long as you are happy with your thumpflats, we (and BMW) wish you well with the rest of their treadlife.

Cheers,

no one ever mentions the GY NCT RF. They are not as bad as described.

That's because they aren't spec'd for these cars. Check the Corvette boards; they are loathed.

Oh yes they are. NCT5 runflats made in Germany, come standard here on 18's, they are a factory fit. Some cars here come with Bridgestones. 17's usually come with Dunlop.

Given a choice I would take Michelin every time, on just about any car, but alas the ZP's are noy yet spec'd for this car, I am patient though, Michelin tell me that they will come within the next year.

Yes they feel OK and I lived with them for over a yr but when I switched my from Dunlop RF to NRF Michelin PS2 I can't tell you how much better the car behaved. Even my service advisor admited the Dunlop's suck and that I would be very happy with the Michelins. The biggest difference I've noticed is in responsiveness (not road sound) - the PS2 seem more agile whereas the runflats seem um, flat-footed. Can't speak about Bridgestones or other RFs. - they may be better
