Every now and then when I start the car the A/C comes on. I turn it off and few minutes later it turns on by itself. Doesnt happen all the time, but I find it very strange. Any ideas???

experienced the same thing - I changed the temp setting on my dials so they were not set at the extremes; set at 70-72, and I have not had that issue lately..........might help

+1 turn the fan speed dial (the one in the middle) to the left nearly all the way and it won't happen anymore.

I've read somewhere that the system will turn itself on when it senses moisture.

I've had this same issue. I noticed a few times it would kick on when I went over a bump. I would also tap the area where the climate controls are and it would come on. Hmmmm.....
