Can I mention about the Lemon Law to BMW Tacoma even though I did the previous service in Seattle one?
I dont think Lemon Law involves the dealers - its an issue with the manufacturer; thus, as long as you are using BMW authorized service centers, it should be applicable.

Google "washington lemon law" and see what you get. Each state has different requirements.

Good luck.

Yeah, that's like saying you hate thermometers because you're running a fever.

I hate rectal thermometers.

Try another dealer for service. It may be that your current one you've been using is not totally competent in the diagnosis department. And/or you could request that they get a BMW NA field tech. to look into the problem.

I have not gone through the entire thread and don't know if someone has already suggested this: it is most likely being caused by a faulty fuel filler cap or sensor that is thinking that the cap is not properly closed. A friend had the same problem fixed last year.

Guys,
I've been in and out 3 times in the last 2 months from BMW Seattle, and it's all about the iDrive.
I dont know what to do. BMW has upgraded it, but the alert "Service Engine Soon (Increased Emissions)" went off again and again.
Any idea what's going on with my car?
Thanks,

Yoko.

Thanks guys for the posts.

I think I will point out about the sensor issue to the service department as soon as I can.

It's really good to be a member of this forum.
Is this BMW service? These guys are trained and should have found that problem themselves. It's a shame you have to go back again, I would cause a lot of noise and try to get some sort of consession for your troubles.

Sadly, It is. I'm going back to a different BMW dealer on Wednesday the 30th to get it fixed, and I will also bring the

paper works from the previous services. and if the warning goes off again within weeks or even 2 months, I think I'm gonna sell

my car definitely. I can't just bring it to BMW service again and again, I gotta work to do too. I'll still be the member of this

forum if that happens.

So, Wish me luck guys..

Thanks anyway..
