Has anyone done anything to "lighten" the E60?

Kind of a silly question, but just wondering if there are any parts people have removed to drop the weight of the car a bit?

Spare tire. Only advisable if you have RFTs otherwise you'll be waiting for AAA to come and get you.

There are only a few things can be done to E60 to loose some weight:

1. Remove spare tire - ~50 lbs
2. Replace RFT with Yokohama - ~32 to 40 lbs
3. Replace stock wheel with aftermarket wheels or Dinan's wheel's - ~15 to 20 lbs
4. E60 power seat is super heavy 60-70lbs each, and it'd be nice to replace it with some aftermarket seat. This will trigger pass. res. system failure, etc.
5. Always run your car at less than 1/2 tank of fuel - ~20lbs
6. Remove floor mats - 5lbs
7. Remove trunk floor mat - 3 lbs

That's it for now. Znod can add some more. Weght saving is much cheaper than adding some CAI or the like.

Don't forget to remove the owners manual and all your CDs. Empty fast-food containers should also be shoveled out of the foot wells.

The most important mod for the most E60 driver I know to lower the rides weight, I suggest to make some diet.

That does more than the most tipps before.

Don't get in the car. That should shed about 150-180 lbs.

30lbs.??? really?

I weigh 200lbs. and i'm not going lower than that!

Wheels sound like the best way to go...plus that's rolling weight.

Thanks fellas.
