My Ride: BMW 2003 530i comfort
Default Has any one experienced this?

Today I went to park my car (the road was on an incline), it is a 2003/4 e60 530i with 118,000 miles and the last transmission service I did was at 60,000miles . I put the car in neutral and let the car roll back and then slowly put on the brake till the car completely stopped then I put it in park. When I released my foot from the brake the car rolled back 2 inches then the signal ⬅️🚗➡️ went on then Turned off followed by the faulty transmission signal turning on. After 10 mins, I came back to the car, it started and drove normally but the faulty transmission signal remained on .
Does anyone know what the transmission issue is here? I have it booked into a transmission workshop next week because my bmw mechanic prefers to send the transmissions off to the specialists.

Thanks Sean . Unfortunately my BM technician didn’t give me any codes, he attached his computer and just reset the adaptive settings but the fault came up again. I’m hoping it’s just low on trans fluid and nothing internal

I had the computer scanned and the fault that came up was 005088 EGS (Electronic Transmission Control), sensors, transmission switch L1-L4.
so from my understanding it’s the megatronic that needs to be replaced. My trans mechanic is trying to source where he can get a clone (he had another e60 with the same issue) . Any ideas who can supply a clone of the mechantronic unit?

Did anyone come back to you on this issue? I am experiencing the same issue and may need to obtain the Mechatronic Unit as well as a set of Solenoids!

Yes my mechanic who specializes in transmissions sourced a good used mechatronic from a wrecking yard and new solenoids and the problem was resolved.
