Have you seen this new gadget due to be in stores mid-October? Looks like a good plan b to lack of ipod adaptor for 5-Series.

Any thouhts on optimal placement of aux adaptor for use with this device? I'm thinkning glove box (with Drive+Play "brain" in the glove box with it) with HUD on dash and controller near idrive control knob.

So put the gadget in the glove compartement and the HUD to your right side of the windscreen and the jog-dial next to the Idrve, sounds cool post pix when ready.

I kinda wish the remote was flat, and was made to mount on top of your idrive, so that it looked somewhat stock, and then could be controlled from on top of the idrive knob

That is certainly a nice device, infinitely better than the horrid iPod interfaces in Alpine, Pioneer, etc. head units.

It will still get horrible alternator noise, unless you go to serious lengths to address that issue.

It may be best to install the brain of the unit in the trunk, closer to the batter, to prevent such noise problems.
