Handbrake handle removal?

Going to order a poplar wood handle for my handbrake but want to ask how it`s actually removed?, will it just pull off same as the gear selector?

I had done the swap on my old 545 and the handle simply pulled off and the new poplar one went on. Does look much nicer than the stock handle IMO!
