Hello,
I had a small accident with mv BMW E60 and i had to replace the front bumper and the right headlight. The headlights are halogen not xenon.
The first thing i have noticed is that the headlights do not do anything when i start the engine. Before, when i was starting the eingine, i could see that the lights go down and up again, and now they do nothing. and neither i can adjust them from the button on the left in the dashboard(to different positions0,1,2... regarding the weight in the car).
Could anyone tell me wher could be the problem?
I have no errors, and the lights are ok, just the adjustment is gone and i have to make the periodical inspection at the begining of next year.

thanks for any ideeas that you may have.
cheers.
George

George, it sounds like you are not in US. Did you purchase the replacement headlight from the dealer or from somewhere else? It seems like your replacement is US spec'd, which does not have auto leveling.

hello nomis_nehc, you are right. i am not in US. i have purchased the headlight from a local shop. but the strange think is that i have asked the garage that did the work and they say that it was working when they dit it. it is true that i did not noticed that straight away when i took the car, but after 3 weeks.
is it possible that one cable or some conection is off somehow?
thank you

It is possible, as the connector is separate on the pre-LCIs. However, it seems a bit unlikely as it clips on pretty tight. Of course, it can't hurt to check.

yes, they move up and down when you turn the ignition on and when you rotate the buton regarding the weight of the cargo you have.

You kind of have to in order to see it. It's the little connector below.
